EQUIPMENT Check all equipment for functionality (feeders, drinkers, heaters, lights, etc.) WATER Water temperature Ensure it is between the optimal 20 – 25°C (68 – 77°F). DRINKERS The drinkers should be set at an appropriate height for the new flock and adjusted according to the age of the chicks. To maintain water quality and freshness, and to regulate water temperature, it may be necessary to change the water in the bell drinkers and/or flush the nipple lines. The water pressure should be reduced to allow droplets to form on the nipple drinkers, making it easier for the chicks to locate the water. PLACEMENT Regardless of the housing system, the placement of the flock is crucial for early adaptation. It helps the chicks locate feed and water more easily. After arrival of the chicks, place them close to water and feed.
