\r\nLOHMANN TIERZUCHT\u2019s partner in\r\nIran, \u201cToyoor Barekat Co.\u201d with its\r\nhead office in Tehran, is reputed to be\r\none of the largest poultry complexes in\r\nthe country and considered a very fast\r\ngrowing company in the layer sector in\r\nIran.<\/strong><\/em>\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nIt is midsummer in Iran and we are\r\ndriving from the capital city of Tehran towards north. The car\u2019s thermometer shows\r\nan outside temperature of 38\u00b0C and we are\r\non our way to visit Toyoor Barekat\u2019s grandparent stock farm. Recently in this area, lots\r\nof birds had to be culled as a consequence\r\nof outbreaks of different poultry diseases,\r\nwhich has always been a big challenge for\r\nthe Iranian poultry industry. \r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Toyoor Barekat grandparent stock farm\r\nis believed to be the only one in this region\r\nwhich was not affected. The combination\r\nof outstanding, paradigmatic biosecurity\r\nas well as preventive measures and the excellent management done by specialists\r\nat Barekat, spared the company\u2019s farm\r\nfrom being contaminated with pathogenic germs. Owing to all of these, the\r\ncompany is still able to continue to keep\r\nthe precious LOHMANN LSL-LITE grandparent flocks with their top performance. \r\n\r\n


\r\nMore than five decades of\r\nexperience and success<\/strong>

\r\n\r\nWith more than half a century of experience in the broiler and layer sectors of\r\nthe poultry business, Toyoor Barekat is\r\nthe exclusive partner and distributor of\r\nLOHMANN TIERZUCHT in Iran. The company was privatized 8 years ago by Safari\r\nBrothers, the producer of parent stock and\r\ncommercial layer day-old chicks, pullets\r\nas well as table eggs. The company owns\r\nmore than 10 subsidiaries in the layer sector alone. The different production sites\r\nwhich include 2 hatcheries, rearing and\r\nproduction farms, egg packing and grading stations, are spread out in various regions of the country. Due to the high density of poultry farms in the central part of\r\nIran and as a preventive measure, the company decided to move some parent stock\r\nflocks to a new location in the northern\r\npart of the country, close to the Caspian

\r\n\r\nSea, where just few poultry farms exist in\r\nthe area. Barekat also produces its own\r\nhigh quality feed in its own feed mills with\r\na capacity of about 250 tons per day for\r\ntheir grandparent and parent stock farms.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\nExemplary Biosecurity and\r\nTop Management Methods<\/strong>

\r\nToyoor Barekat sets very high standards\r\non hygiene, biosecurity and management.\r\nJust to name one example, the grandparent stock farm located in the Qazvin\r\narea in Iran, is almost 7 km away from the\r\nmain highway. A private road leads to the\r\ndouble-fenced farm compound. All the\r\nworkers and visitors must take a shower\r\nand wear the farm\u2019s own protective clothing just to get inside the main building\r\nas the first station on the compound. To\r\naccess the grandparent stock house, which\r\nis located 1 km away from the main building, you have to take two more showers and change the protective clothing 3\r\ntimes. Every station has its own protective\r\nclothes, shoes and towels with specific\r\ncolors so as not to be mixed up with the\r\nothers. The workers and visitors will be\r\ndriven from the main building to the birds\u2019\r\nhouse using the farm\u2019s own vehicle, which\r\nnever leaves the compound. In fact, no\r\nother car is allowed to get inside the compound with the exception of vehicles from\r\nthe feed mill and for the transport of birds,\r\nwhich must be washed and completely\r\ndisinfected in a special car wash, installed\r\nat the entrance. These vehicles are just\r\nallowed to enter the compound as far as\r\nto the main building. The onward transport will be carried out by the farm\u2019s own\r\nvehicle. The feed delivered by the Toyoor\r\nBarekat\u2019s own feed mill which is located on\r\nthe compound, is packed in double bags\r\nand will be fumigated on the farm again.

\r\n\r\nAll other foreign objects such as glasses\r\nor cameras brought by visitors must also\r\nbe fumigated twice with Formaldehyde.\r\nAll the biosecurity measures on this farm\r\nare an example of the top management\r\narrangements done by Toyoor Barekat\u2019s\r\nspecialists such as Mr. Khatibi (General\r\nManager), Dr. Abbasi (Production Manager)\r\nand their colleagues.

\r\nDespite extreme weather conditions and\r\na high risk of poultry infectious diseases,\r\nToyoor Barekat has shown how to achieve\r\nan outstanding performance with\r\nLOHMANN LSL. They were able to attain\r\ntop performances for several weeks consecutively, even higher than the LOHMANN\r\nTIERZUCHT standards in laying, number of\r\nsettable eggs and saleable chicks per hen\r\nhoused in the grandparent stocks of both\r\nlines.
