In the\r\nhottest season, i.e. from February to May, the temperature reaches up to 34 \u00b0C and above. Owing to the subsidies provided\r\nby the local government, egg producers have combined closed-type houses with cooling-pads and tunnel ventilation to\r\ncreate more safe and comfortable environmental conditions for layers.<\/strong><\/em> <br><br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Avian Influenza (AI) epidemic which\r\nbroke-out in 2004, was a disaster for the\r\npoultry industry in Thailand. To prevent\r\nAI virus contamination from wild birds,\r\nthe Thai government encouraged egg\r\nproducers to change their layer houses to\r\nclosed ones. These changes have not only\r\nimproved layer management in Thailand\r\nbut also increased the production per hen\r\nhoused. The performance of <strong>LOHMANN\r\nBROWN<\/strong> (LB) was also pushed to a much\r\nhigher level as a result of this.\r\n<br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lohmann-breeders.com\/media\/2020\/09\/p49.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"578\" class=\"imgcenter\" \/><br>\r\n<em><strong>The Boonsang family<\/strong><\/em>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<br><br>\r\nThe Boonsang family has been managing\r\nSiroy Farm in the Ang Thong area (120 km\r\naway from Bangkok) for 25 years now. With a\r\ncapacity of 100,000 layers, Siroy is considered\r\nto be only a medium-sized farm in Thailand. \r\n<br><br>\r\n\r\nMrs. Judhaman (as seen in the picture)\r\nsummarizes the advantages of LB as follows:<br>\r\n<strong>1. Long peak persistence, 90 % above\r\n the usual level at eight months<br>\r\n2. Get more profit because eggs which\r\n are larger can be sold at a higher price<br>\r\n3. Consumers like the colour of the\r\n LB shell<br>\r\n4. Good shell quality even at 80 weeks\r\n of age<br>\r\n5. Larger eggs, i.e. above 65 g, are easy\r\n to sell when the market is depressed<\/strong><br><br>\r\n \r\n \r\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lohmann-breeders.com\/media\/2020\/09\/p50.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"360\" class=\"imgcenter\" \/><br>\r\n <strong>100 Baht = 2,48 Euro<\/strong>\r\n \r\n \r\n <br><br>\r\n \u201cBeing an egg producer for 25 years now, we\r\nmade the most profit in the years following\r\nthe AI epidemic as quite a lot of other\r\nlayer production farms were affected\u201d, Mrs.\r\nJudhaman said, \u201cFortunately, we changed\r\nfrom Hisex to 100 % LOHMANN BROWN four\r\nyears ago which helped us to make more\r\nprofit\u201d. \u201cWe are very proud of LOHMANN\r\ngenetics and thank Betagro (an LB hatchery)\r\nfor their support.\u201d Most exciting at Siroy Farm\r\nis that one the LB flocks had a production level \r\nof 90 % for ten months straight at 51 weeks of\r\nage. Interestingly, the house with this flock is\r\nbuilt on a fish pond.
