\r\n\r\nThe country has a population of 87.8 mil\r\n–\r\nlion people and therefore it is even more\r\npopulated than Germany with 80.5 million\r\npeople. As is most of the Asian countries\r\nthe population continues to grow and the\r\ncountry has a young population with an\r\naverage age of 28 years old. Egg Consump\r\n–\r\ntion is only 70 eggs per capita and expect\r\n–\r\ned to increase from year to year parallel to\r\nthe economic progress.

\r\n\r\nThe major cities in Vietnam are\r\nHanoi in\r\nthe northern region, Danang in the central\r\nregion and\r\nHo Chi\r\nMinh City or formerly\r\nknown as Saigon in the southern region.\r\nThe poultry production activities are fo\r\n–\r\ncused mainly in the southern region.

\r\n\r\nThe recent \u201cInternational Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing and Aquaculture Exposition\/ ILDEX\u201d in Ho Chi Minh City was participated for the second time by Lohmann Tierzucht. Despite still being a small\r\nshow but it is an important one in Vietnam.\r\nIldex Fair provides good opportunities for\r\nLohm\r\nann Tierzu\r\nc\r\nh\r\nt to establish new\r\ncontacts and prepare the base for strong\r\nmarket presence in this important South\r\nEast Asian country, VIET\r\nN\r\nA\r\nM\r\n.\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\nPrior to the show in\r\nNovember 2013, a\r\ngroup of high ranking delegation from the\r\nVietnam’s Department of Animal\r\nHealth,\r\nhas visited Germany to evaluate the biosecurity status, measures and working on a\r\ndiscussion to an agreed\r\nHealth Certificate\r\nbetween Germany and Vietnam. Lohmann Tierzucht hosted the delegation\r\nfor 2 days in Cuxhaven, and presented the\r\ncompany and its stringent biosecurity\r\nmeasures and practices.\r\nMichael B. Seidel,\r\nSales Director of LT\r\nZ visited the Director\r\nGeneral Dr P\r\nH\r\nA\r\nM VA\r\nN DONG in\r\nHanoi pri\r\n–\r\nor to the fair who has confirmed that the\r\nagreement is now in place and supplies of\r\nDay\r\nOld Chicks from Germany is now pos\r\n–\r\nsible.\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nOverall, the show has been quite a success\r\nas new contacts from the major players in\r\nthe Vietnam’s egg industry has been es\r\n–\r\ntablished and we are looking forward to a\r\nstrong market presence in Vietnam.\r\n
