The\r\nfirst contract was signed already on 15th April 1992. <\/strong><\/em><br><br><br>\r\n\r\nThe head office is located in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. The Republic of Indonesia is the world\u2019s largest Island State\r\nconsisting of 17,508 islands with almost 250\r\nmillion inhabitants. It is the fourth largest\r\ncountry in the world. Jakarta has about 10\r\nmillion inhabitants and is located on the\r\nisland of Java where more than half of the\r\ncountry\u2019s total population is living. Other\r\nmajor islands include Sumatra, Borneo,\r\nSulawesi and New Guinea. Indonesia\u2019s egg\r\nconsumption per capita is one of the lowest in Asia with about 90 eggs only!\r\n<strong>PT JAPFA COMFEED INDONESIA Tbk<\/strong> is one\r\nof the largest agri-food companies in the\r\ncountry. Its core business activities include\r\nthe manufacture of animal feed, chicken\r\nbreeding, poultry processing, aquaculture\r\nfarming and the research and production\r\nof animal vaccines.<br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\nWith a total production capacity of 2.6 million tons per annum, Japfa is one of the\r\nleading feed manufacturers in the country commanding over one third of the total market. Of the total feed produced by\r\nJapfa today, 10% is used for internal breeding operations while the rest is sold to local\r\nfarmers and independent distributors.\r\nJapfa already commands a significant\r\nshare of the domestic poultry market and\r\nhas successfully achieved strong market\r\npositions in many of its business lines.\r\nA string of acquisitions transformed the\r\ncompany into being one of the largest and\r\nmost integrated poultry \/ shrimp producers in Indonesia. <br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<blockquote>In farming, Japfa enjoys a high level of\r\nintegration with its former subsidiary, PT\r\nMultibreeder Adirama Indonesia Tbk. Established in 1985 and publicly listed on the\r\nJakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchanges up\r\nuntil the merger, Multibreeder currently\r\noperates a number of poultry breeding farms to produce day-old chicks for farms\r\nlocated throughout Indonesia. Its annual\r\nproduction capacity is one of the largest in\r\nthe country and represents about 20% of\r\nthe domestic market share. Most of Multibreeder\u2019s day-old chicks are sold to local\r\ncommercial farmers.<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n <br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\nOne of Multibreeder\u2019s major competitive\r\nadvantages is the provision of specific types\r\nof day-old chicks to best suit the needs of\r\nthe customers. Closely related to this is the\r\nuse of strain-specific feed made by Japfa\u2019s\r\nfeed production plants. To ensure a consistently high quality output, Multibreeder imports grandparent stocks from <strong>LOHMANN\r\nTIERZUCHT<\/strong> and Aviagen, through which it\r\nproduces parent stocks and commercials,\r\nboth for layers and broilers.<br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn staying ahead of the competition,\r\nMultibreeder has achieved a high level of\r\noperational efficiency. Two particular initiatives implemented in its breeding farms\r\nare indeed praiseworthy. The first is a biosecurity system which has dramatically\r\nimproved sanitation standards. As a result,\r\nthe farms now enjoy higher productivity of\r\nthe parent stocks, low mortality rates, reduced losses through mishandling, as well\r\nas consistency in day-old chick quality.\r\nThe second system aimed at improving\r\nits breeding operations, is a performance\r\nbenchmarking program. This involves defining quality parameters by which the\r\nquality of Multibreeder\u2019s day-old chicks are\r\ncompared locally from farm-to-farm and\r\nalso with farms in other countries.<br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lohmann-breeders.com\/media\/2020\/09\/j87.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"800\" class=\"imgcenter\" \/>\r\n<br><br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAlready in September 2008, Japfa acquired\r\none of the leading research-based animal\r\nvaccine producers in South-East Asia, PT\r\nVaksindo Satwa Nusantara. This is a key\r\nportion of Japfa\u2019s integration strategy to\r\nenhance its state-of-the-art biosecurity\r\nmeasures. This also allows Japfa to provide a total poultry solution to its customers, ranging from DOCs to feed to poultry\r\nhealth needs. <br><br>\r\n\r\n\r\nIn 2013, \u201cPT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia\u201d,\r\nequally as large as Japfa, became a <strong>LOHMANN BROWN<\/strong> parent stock customer for\r\nMultibreeder. Although CP has ISA grandparent stocks in Indonesia themselves,\r\nthey entered into a supply agreement\r\nwith Multibreeder for an annual supply of\r\n200,000 Lohmann Brown parent stock\r\nday-old chicks for the next 3 years.<br><br>\r\n\r\nBecause of the strong underlying demand\r\nfor DOCs in Indonesia, there is ample room\r\nfor further growth into the future. This is\r\nsupported by Indonesia\u2019s rapidly growing\r\nconsumer market and a growing population, not to mention, an increasing purchasing power. To further strengthen the\r\nco-operation between PT Japfa Comfeed\r\nand <strong>LOHMANN TIERZUCHT<\/strong>, a new Franchise Hatchery Agreement was signed recently in Jakarta.<br><br>\r\nMichael B.
