The\r\nconference took place at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broad Beach at the Gold Coast. The theme of\r\nthis poultry exhibition was: \u00b4\u00b4Key concepts for our future\u00b4\u00b4. More than 200 exhibitors presented their latest products and equipment at the latter. The exhibition comprised of workshops and presentations on numerous areas\r\nof special interest encompassing all aspects of the poultry industry.<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n<br><br>\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lohmann-breeders.com\/media\/2020\/08\/img98.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"238\" class=\"imgcenter\" \/>\r\n\r\n<br><br>\r\n\r\n<h2>General Topics <\/h2>\r\nThe outbreaks of Avian Influenza world\u00adwide and the measures\r\nperformed to keep this out of Australia, was one of the main topics during the 3\u00adday event. Biosecurity is a major issue where this\r\nsubject is concerned and the same appeared in many presentations during the exhibition, often with a theoretical and scientific\r\napproach. In our conversations with fellow visitors, we recognised\r\nthe need for practical tools. <br>\r\nOther themes such as farming and feed management were often\r\nhot topics in our dialogues as well, most likely due to the recent introduction of aviary and other alternative systems in Australia. It was a\r\ngreat pleasure to have done this together with the experts of SBA as\r\nthey have a solid understanding of the layer business in Australia. <br><br>\r\n\r\n<h2>Australian Layer Business<\/h2>\r\nDuring the exhibition and a farm visit later that week, we got a\r\nbetter impression of the Australian layer business. Together with\r\nRichard Rayner (CEO of SBA) and his colleagues, we had some interactive discussions with some key customers during that week.\r\nWe realised that although technique and equipment are already\r\navailable, it is necessary to have practical instructions on how to utilise these in the best practical way. We, at LOHMANN, are sure that\r\nSBA has the right expertise to give this service to their customers. <br><br>\r\n<h2>Cooperation &#8211; Past and Future<\/h2>\r\nSBA and LOHMANN have been working together for 5 years now.\r\nThe breed <strong>\u201cLOHMANN BROWN\u201c<\/strong> reached \u201cDown Under\u201c in 2011.\r\nThe official market launch of this breed was at the PIX conference\r\nat Broad Beach, Gold Coast in May of 2012. The launch was very\r\nsuccessful and LOHMANN sales are growing consistently. As a result of the growth in the Australian market SBA has already started\r\nto build a new hatchery at Rochester, Victoria this year.
