It\u2018s main attractions include the world\u2018s oldest lush tropical rainforest, beautiful white sandy beaches\r\nand rare animals like the Orang Utan.\r\nA former British colony, Malaysia gained\r\nit\u2018s independence on 31st August 1957 and\r\nsince then it has undergone rapid growth\r\nand industrialization to become a modern\r\nstate it is today.<br><br>\r\nHome to almost 30 million citizens of\r\nmulti religious and cultural background , it\r\nhas one of the highest per capita egg consumption in the south-east asian region,\r\nwith 300 eggs per person.<br><br>\r\nThe egg industry in Malaysia has grown\r\nexponentially over the years after the country experienced an economic boom in the\r\n80\u2018s, and the egg industry has transited\r\nfrom backyard poultry farming into the modern production system it is today.<br><br>\r\n\r\nThe Malaysian egg market is made up\r\nof 97% brown eggs and about 3% tinted\r\neggs. The consumers and producers here\r\nprefer dark uniform egg shell colours with a\r\ngood egg shell quality. Currently, it\u2018s\r\nat 31%, an increase of more than 10 fold in\r\nthe period of 20 years.<br><br>\r\nThe table shows the production figure\r\nof table eggs in Peninsular Malaysia from\r\nthe year 2004 to year 2015. It can be concluded that egg production has increased\r\nsteadily for the past 10 years and reached\r\nthe 9 billion egg mark in 2012. By 2015, the\r\negg output reached 10 billion eggs per year\r\nand continue to be very progressive .<br><br>\r\nHuat Lai Resources Berhad is a public\r\nlisted company that was incorporated on\r\n12th November 1994. Since then, Huat Lai\r\nhas made a lot of strategic investments in\r\nupgrading their production systems. Beginning as a small traditional commercial\r\nlayer operation with a daily production of\r\n170,000 eggs during it\u2018s establishment,\r\nHuat Lai Resources now has a\r\ndaily production of approximately 4 million eggs per day\r\nand has since become one of\r\nthe biggest poultry integrators\r\nin Malaysia. The daily target egg\r\nproduction for the coming 2 years is to reach 5 million eggs.<br><br>\r\nToday, Huat Lai Resources\r\nBerhad has it\u2018s own feedmill, layer parent stock farm, commercial\r\nlayer farms and it\u2018s own grading\r\nand packing center. It\u2018s subsidiary companies are Green Friend\r\nFertilizer Sdn Bhd, Huat Lai Products, Linggi Agriculture, Chuan\r\nHong Poultry Sdn . Bhd, TPC Plus\r\nBerhad and\r\ntheir subsidiary, PT Lestari Agribisnis in Indonesia and another HLRB Food Pte\r\nLtd incorporated in Singapore.<br><br>\r\n\r\nMr Lim Yeow Her, the Managing Director of Huat Lai has a positive outlook\r\nfor the future of layer industry in Malaysia\r\nand he believes that there will be more\r\ngrowth in the next few years to come.
