Times are changing. The technological era has arrived and doesn\u2019t stop at the gates of the poultry industry. As\r\nmarket leader in the poultry breeding sector, LOHMANN TIERZUCHT is willing to play a leading role in technological\r\nprogress. We welcome new technologies that can make our lives easier in different areas. An important\r\nstep in this direction is our Online Ordering System, which was launched at the beginning of this year.<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\n\r\nProgress \u2013 development \u2013 success<\/strong>

\r\n\r\nLOHMANN TIERZUCHT is the first breeding\r\ncompany to introduce this kind of online\r\nordering program.

\r\n\r\nOne of the main reasons for developing\r\na new, more efficient order system\r\nis the perishable nature of our products. A\r\ncompany such as LOHMANN, dealing with\r\nlive chicks, needs to make the whole ordering\r\nsystem more dynamic. First and foremost,\r\nthis development represents an unstoppable\r\nchange from paper-based data\r\nstorage and communication to digital\r\nformats. We need to adapt to this change\r\nin order to stay up to date. Sticking with a\r\nprocess that has always worked well does\r\nnot necessarily guarantee success in the\r\nlong term. We have to move forward and\r\nshow initiative.

\r\n\r\n\r\nTime efficiency and responsibility<\/strong>

\r\n\r\nUnder the old system, order forms were\r\nfilled in by our sales staff in conjunction\r\nwith the customer, signed and passed on\r\nto different departments such as planning,\r\nlogistics and production. This procedure\r\nwas time-consuming and could delay\r\nthe whole order management process.
\r\nThe new online platform is time-efficient:\r\nthe sales representatives and all the other\r\ndepartments involved are now able to\r\naccess the order information at the same\r\ntime and the information flow is not delayed\r\nor interrupted. The benefit for the\r\ncustomer is that they do not have to hand\r\nover responsibility for their order.
They can\r\nfill in the order form themselves and the\r\ninformation is immediately forwarded to\r\nthe relevant departments. They can also\r\nupdate details as soon as any changes occur\r\nand all parties concerned are notified\r\nimmediately. Every time the status of any\r\norder changes or a new order is placed,\r\nevery user (customer and LOHMANN departments)\r\nreceives a confirmation\/notification\r\nemail. A list of orders \u2018pending\u2019 is\r\nalso shown on the platform. The customer\r\ncan access the data at any time.

\r\n\r\nAccessibility wherever you are<\/strong>

\r\n\r\nThe program not only focuses on time\r\nefficiency but on availability as well. The\r\nmain channel for accessing the online\r\nplatform is the computer or laptop, but a\r\nsmartphone or tablet can also be used, of\r\ncourse, and it is available and accessible by\r\nall users everywhere 24 hours a day.
This\r\nmakes the system more widely accessible\r\nin any situation. Orders can be placed from\r\nanywhere 24 hours a day and changes can\r\nbe made immediately. This accessibility\r\nimprovement will make the process more\r\nattractive from the customer\u2019s perspective.
\r\nOther technical details are also designed\r\nto make the customer\u2019s life easier, such\r\nas the overview showing the most recent\r\nshipments and future estimated production\r\nin graph form. Only the required option\r\nhas to be selected instead of entering\r\nthe whole data every time.

\r\n\r\nThis is the direction LOHMANN has\r\ntaken with the online platform implementation.\r\nCustomers can place their orders\r\nwhenever it is convenient for them \u2013 at\r\nany time and in any situation.

\r\n\r\nStable customer relationship\r\nstill LOHMANN\u2019s main aim<\/strong>

\r\n\r\nOur main aim always has been and always\r\nwill be to build and maintain strong and\r\nsuccessful business relationships with our\r\ncustomers. Our online ordering system\r\nguarantees functional and effective\r\ncommunication between all the relevant\r\nparties. We can now use the information\r\nreceived directly from the customer to\r\nbetter plan production and maximize\r\ncustomer satisfaction.
The customer has\r\neverything under their own responsibility\r\nand control. Orders now have to be placed\r\nand amended in writing online. This avoids\r\ncommunication errors over the phone and\r\nmakes the whole process more transparent\r\nfor both parties.
Avoiding unnecessary\r\ndiscussions and misunderstandings is\r\nalways a big step towards building a balanced,\r\nsatisfactory relationship between\r\nbuyer and seller. The customer\u2019s order\r\npreferences are now reflected on the\r\nplatform, showing the regularity of orders,\r\nquantities, preferred time periods, etc. We\r\ncan now use this information to better\r\nplan production and maximize customer\r\nsatisfaction.
