This allows us to deliver products tailored to local needs and the ever-growing demand for egg production.
Aiming commercial birds’ performance through meticulous parents selection, places us in the privileged position of applying the same selection criteria that egg producers seek year after year. In addition to commercial production traits, in parent birds selection we also consider reproductive characteristics such as hatchability and fertility, which are not directly evaluated by egg producers.
This means that genetic gains in the production of saleable eggs in commercial layers can be extrapolated through the hatching egg production of their parents.
In this way, the productive performance trend of the breeders serves as an early projection of the genetic improvements their offspring will exhibit in the field years later.
In 2025, we will conduct a review of the productive standards for our white and brown breeder lines in all their variations. The outstanding performance of our parent stock gives us great confidence in what’s to come for commercial layers of both current and future generations.
And this we can see when analyzing 50% top performer Parent Stock flocks among several climate and housing conditions, as per the charts:
The continuous improvement in our parent stock’s performance is more than just an achievement, it is a glimpse into the future of their daughters, our profitable LOHMANN layers.
As the saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree, the genetic advancements we see today in the parent stock egg per hen housed trait are a key insight
of the performance trend their offspring will deliver in the years to come.
This achievement benefits our distributors who can produce more chicks per parent as well as our commercial customers who can get more eggs with the same number of hens.
It is literally what the other saying goes: do more with less.
It is literally Breeding for success…together!
After all, LOHMANN BREEDERS – It’s the egg.
